Locals performers top Australia Day Beach Party stage
Over its history the Great Australia Day Beach Party (GADBP) event has provided opportunities for ‘home-grown’ local performers to showcase their talent. As the years have progressed many of those performers have grown into out-standing professional entertainers wowing crowds and touring the State and Nationally.
This year’s music entertainment line-up in particular is guaranteed to be one to not miss. It will feature and showcase some of the best of best CQ bands and entertainers as well as fantastic new emerging talent.
The line-up includes a new band Chill Hill which has recently formed describing themselves as “4 Elegantly haired blokes from 4703”. As their moniker suggests they are fresh, fun, perform with style and are rapidly growing a strong following. For anyone who hasn’t watched them perform, these guys should definitely be on your must see list this Sunday and will be performing early in the program at 1.30pm.
The New Vintage Duo will also take the GADBP stage for the first time this year. The New Vintage are an acoustic duo in Central Queensland playing all your faves and some you forgot. The sound is fat and reminiscent of Mumford and Sons mixed with Johnny Cash with a little Lady Gaga thrown in for good measure.
As the afternoon transitions into the evening program Core will entertain the crowd with what can best be described as solid rock. The line-up of Core is comprised of extremely talented seasoned musicians who have played in signature CQ bands like Rockforce and The Thunderbirds. Still nailing it with both vintage and contemporary rock they will rock and roll the audience into the night program with the style and energy.
Breaking up the music program will be Dr Ace with his hilarious comedy family hypnotist show. A magician by trade, and a very funny one at that, if he doesn’t put you under his spell Drace will certainly have everyone laughing till their sides ache.
To cap an extraordinary night program there will a star-studded triple header of world class CQ music talent. First with The Shortfall and MATH delivering a Great Australia Day Jam. This dynamic power-packed combination of two of the region’s most exciting live bands joining forces for first time will be a jam for the ages!
Lead vocalists Angelo Conway & Maddi Worner are no stranger to sharing the stage together, having performed as Kenickie and Rizzo in the 2024 RRC Production of Grease. They’re set to bring the same high energy performance this Sunday alongside members of both bands; with the 6 piece outfit set to play a mixture of crowd favourites and their own original music.
The closing act before the monster JRT fireworks finale will be local Australian Idol legend Trent Richardson and his band. The young cowboy camel farmer, whose passion for music has propelled him onto the national stage has emerge as the thrilling new voice in the country music scene. With his best still to come the singer songwriter, at just 22 years old, has already garnered a massive following across Australia. Trent is sure to captivate the audiences with his authentic sound and magnetic stage presence which has made him a rising star in Australian Country Music.
