Locals performers top Australia Day Beach Party stage

With a stellar entertainment line-up, Cap Coast Community Events Association (CCCE), who organise the Great Australia Day Beach Party, believe the stage is certainly set another fantastic event.

Commencing with a Darumbal Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony at 1pm, the stage program will feature a showcase of both professional entertainers and emerging CQ talent. There will be with something for everybody from live music, variety performances, spectacular dancers, comedy, magic and kids shows.

Must see performances will include the acclaimed Queensland-based Warriors Descendents Dance Troupe who will be performing as part of their CQ Queensland tour. Their dynamic performances with three generations of dancers and storytelling in dance will be a cultural treat.

Special guests Big Top Entertainment will bring both thrills and comedy to the stage with their daring circus performances, fire show, plus hilarious family favourite Rolla the Clown show.

Esmeralda’s Fabulous Flea Circus is also back with her rib-tickling comic show, and this year she will introduce a first-time performance by her amazing Deeogie the Dog. Other performers will include the Dolphin Line Dancers, Melinda’s Dance Studio and the Rockhampton Batton Twirlers.

Live music on the day will be well covered with five bands performing. Bands will include Relic with their high-energy rock’n’roll, New Vintage Band with their distinctive mix of classic hits and originals, the ever-popular Jason Rigby Band and performances from two new up and coming next generation bands Fern and Jellylegs.

Of course, no Australia Day would be complete without CQ’s resident bush poet Mr Bob Pacey delivering his own brand of mirth and mayhem with rousing renditions of bush poetry with passion,
